The effect comparison between septum suture and nasal cavity filling after septum diorthosis

Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of septum suture and nasal cavity filling after septum diorthosis. Methods The clinical data of 100 patients with perennial angiokinesis rhinitis combined with septal deviation in Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Xijing Hospital, Air Force Medical University from January 2016 to January 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the treatment after septum diorthosis, patients were divided into septum suture group (50 cases) and nasal cavity filling group (50 cases). The VAS scores of clinical symptoms, clinical effects, nasal bleeding within 24 h after surgery, hematoma of nasal septum after surgery, ankylorrhinia of the two groups were compared. Results The VAS scores of nasal pain, headache, nasal obstruction, lacrimation, tinnitus/ear fullness, dysphagia, dyscoimesis, pain uncomfortable of clean up the nasal cavity after surgery of the nasal cavity filling group were higher than those of the septum suture group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total effective rate, nasal bleeding within 24 h after surgery, hematoma of nasal septum after surgery, ankylorrhinia between the two groups had no statistically significant differences (P > 0.05). Conclusion The clinical treatment effect between septum suture and nasal cavity filling after septum diorthosis has no obviously difference, but the pain of septum suture is lighter than nasal cavity filling treatment, which is worthy of clinical application.
