Research progress of interaction of thyroid disorders and trace elements

Abstract:Thyroid is one of the most important endocrine glands, and its primary function is to synthesize thyroid hormone. In recent years, the incidence of thyroid diseases has gradually increased, which mainly related to the secretion and metabolism of thyroid hormone. It is important that trace elements will regulate or affect the metabolism of thyroid hormone through different mechanisms. This article summarizes the interaction of thyroid disorders and trace elements, based on the three disorders as thyroid dysfunction, inflammation and carcinoma. The mutual correlation between them may provide a certain reference value for prevention and treatment of thyroid disorders.
