Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of ultrasound guided acupotomology in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods Sixty cases of patients with knee osteoarthritis in accordance with the inclusion criteria treated in Rehabilitation Department, Shijiazhuang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November 2016 to March 2018 were selected as research objects, and they were divided into two groups by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The ultrasound guided acupotomology group was given therapy of ultrasound guided acupotomology, once every 5-6 days, for 2 weeks. The acupuncture group was given acupuncture therapy, five times each week, for 2 weeks. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was recorded before and after treatment for 2 weeks, and the efficacy of the two groups was recorded. Results After treatment, the VAS scores in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the score of ultrasound guided acupotomology group was significantly lower than that of acupuncture group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate of ultrasound guided acupotomology group was 90.0%, which was higher than that of acupuncture group (66.7%), the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of ultrasound guided acupotomology in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis is better than that of acupuncture therapy, which can significantly improve clinical symptoms in short term.
