Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical effect of silver ion dressing and antiseptic gauze in patients with venous leg ulceration. Methods A total of 120 cases of patients with venous leg ulceration from May 2014 to December 2016 treated in Outpatient Department, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with antiseptic gauze and the observation group was treated with silver ion dressing. The degree of pain, the reduction rate of ulcer area, the skin around the impregnation rate and medical expenses were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the score of VAS between the two groups (P > 0.05), after treatment of 7, 15, 21 d and 30 d, the score of VAS in the observation group were all lower than that of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment of 10 d, 20 d and 30 d, the reduction rate of ulcer area in the observation group were all lower than that of control group (P < 0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the skin around the impregnation rate(P > 0.05), after treatment of 10, 20 d and 30 d, the impregnation rate of skin around in the observation group was all lower than those of control group ( P < 0.05). The medical expenses in the observation group was lower than that of control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The effect of silver ion dressing in the treatment of venous leg ulceration is better than antiseptic gauze. It can reduce the pain level, narrow down the ulcer area, reduce the medical expenses. It is worthy of promotion and application.
