Effect of Shenqi Tiaoti Decoction combined with Western medicine in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome with spleen deficiency and phlegmatic hygrosis

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of Shenqi Tiaoti Decoction combined with Western medicine in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome with spleen deficiency and phlegmatic hygrosis. Methods A total of 86 polycystic ovarian syndrome patients with spleen deficiency and phlegmatic hygrosis, who cured in Outpatient Service of Gynaecology Department in the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2014 to March 2017, were divided into control group and observation group according to registration order, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was given lifestyle intervention and drug therapy, while the observation group was given Shenqi Tiaoti Decoction on the base of control group. The TCM symptom score, serum hormone, insulin resistance and ovary indexes of two groups before and after treatment were recorded. And the total effective rates of two groups were calculated. Results After treatment, the symptom scores delayed menorrhea, nausea phlegm, mentally fatigued and tongue thick and greasy of two groups were all obviously lower than before, and those in observation group were all lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the testosterone, estradiol, luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin and insulin resistance index of two groups were all obviously lower than before, and those in observation group were all obviously lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the ovarian volume and number of basal sinus follicles of two groups were both obviously less than before, and the ovarian volume, number of basal sinus follicles in observation group were lower than control group, the mature follicles in observation group was more than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of clinical treatment in observation group was obviously higher than control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Shenqi Tiaoti Decoction combined with Western medicine has curative effect in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome with spleen deficiency and phlegmatic hygrosis, it can effectively improve symptoms of spleen deficiency and phlegmatic hygrosis, and regulate endocrine disorders and blood sugar metabolism, promote the recovery of ovarian function.
