Abstract：Any industry develops in the surrounding outer environment. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry of Yunnan Province develops rapidly, and it has already become the largest and most influential area in the biomedical industry of whole province. However, its development environment is restricted by such factors as weak industrial linkage, insufficient talent support, weak innovation ability and limited comprehensive competitiveness of enterprises. With regards to the high attention of Yunnan provincial Party Committee and provincial government, good industrial foundation, rich resources of Chinese medicinal materials, rich national medical culture, and accelerating standardization construction, Yunnan TCM industry has great potential for optimization of development environment. Thus, it is suggested to strengthen top-level design and guidance, increase talent cultivation and guidance, enhance innovation drive, and let TCM enterprises become large and special, so as to effectively optimize the development environment of Yunnan′s TCM industry, and to promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
