Abstract:Objective To investigation and analysis of the cognitive status of antimicrobial drugs of students of three normal universities in Jilin Province, and study the importance and urgency of popularizing antibacterial drug knowledge and other healthy education in university. Methods The questionnaire was prepared by combining random stratification and cluster sampling. The survey target is the freshmen and junior students of three normal in Jilin Province, Northeast Normal University, Jilin Normal University and Changchun Normal University. The survey index inculding the awareness rate of antibacterial drugs, the abuse rate, the phenomenon of self-medication and whether they are eager to learn about antibacterial drugs. A total of 3000 questionnaires were issued and 2783 were recovered, with an effective rate of 92.77%. Results The results showed that junior students had 42.31% of basic knowledge in antibacterials, which was higher than freshmen (40.77%), with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Compared with freshmen (16.55%), the use of antimicrobial agents were haphazard and there were serious self-medication phenomena in junior students (32.05%), with statistically significant difference (P < 0.01). They were not optimistic about the cognitive status of antimicrobial drug abuse, and students are eager to acquire knowledge of antimicrobial drugs through specialized courses. Conclusion The subjects′ cognition of antibacterial drugs is not good and the reform of university health education course is imminent.
