Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of vidian neurotomy in pulmonary function of allergic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. Methods Sixty-eight cases of allergic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, living in Xinjiang for years, hospitalizing at the otorhinolaryngology center of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People′s Hospital from February 2015 to May 2017 were selected and were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 34 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with nasal polyp cut and paranasal sinus opening surgery. The observation group was added vidian neurectomy. After a follow-up period for half a year, the clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated. The changes of pulmonary function, the postoperative complications and recurrence of the two groups were compared. Results The cure rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05), and the levels of VCmax, FEV1, FVC and MMEF in the observation group were significantly higher than those before operation and the corresponding period of the control group (P < 0.05). There were no serious complications and recurrence in the two groups. Conclusion Vidian neurectomy can effectively improve the clinical efficacy of allergic rhinitis sinusitis with nasal polyps, and improve the lung function of patients.
