Abstract:Objective To compare the curative effect of lever positioning and chiropractic manipulation in the treatment of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc. Methods From March 2015 to November 2017, 302 cases of patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc admitted to Rui′an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected, according to the random number table method, they were divided into treatment group (152 cases) and control group (150 cases), the treatment group was given lever positioning combined with traction, the control group was given traditional chiropractic manipulation traction. The time and number of treatment in two groups were the same, the curative effects between the two groups were compared after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of visual analogue scale (VAS) in two groups were lower than those before treatment, the Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores (JOA) were higher than those before treatment, the differences were highly statistically significant (P < 0.01); after treatment, the VAS score in treatment group was lower than that of control group, the JOA score was higher than that of control group, the differences were highly statistically significant (P < 0.01). The curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, the difference was highly statistically significant (P < 0.01). Conclusion The curative effect of lever positioning for treating prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc is definite, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
