Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of continuous nursing on the level of hope and self management of patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods From January 2012 to October 2016, in Central Hospital of Chaoyang City, 93 patients with ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction who received PCI treatment were selected; according to ballot method, they were divided into observation group (47 cases) and control group (46 cases). The observation group was given continuous nursing and the control group was given routine nursing. The level of hope and self management of patients in two groups were evaluated in hospital and 6 months after discharge respectively. The incidence of major adverse events after 1 years of discharge in two groups was compared. Results There was no significant difference in the total score of hope and the level of self management between the two groups (P > 0.05). The total scores of hope and self management level of the patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at 6 months of discharge, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The incidence of major adverse events of the patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group after 1 year of discharge follow-up,the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Continuous nursing can improve patients' self-management ability and hope level and reduce the incidence of major adverse cardiac events after PCI, which is worthy of clinical application.
