Abstract:Fisetin (3,3′4′7-4 hydroxyl flavone) is a plant flavonol, a dietary flavonoids, which exists in a variety of fruits (strawberry, apple, mango, persimmon, kiwi fruit and grape), vegetables(tomato, Onion, cucumber), nuts and wine. The highest levels of fisetin are found in strawberries, apples and persimmons. It is estimated that the average daily intake of fisetin is 0.4 mg. Fisetin has strong effect of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, hypoglycemic, neuroprotective and cardioascular protection. This paper reviews the physicochemical property and pharmacological effects of fisetin and provides a basis for further modern research and clinical application of fisetin.
