Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of Butylphthalide in treatment of delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning. Methods Up to January 2018, PubMed, EMBase, the Cochrane Library, Wed of Science CBM, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang Data were searched to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about Butylphthalide in treatment of delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning. The RCTs selected, study quality assessed, and data extracted were carried by two researchers independently. According to the evaluation system of Cochrane Handbook, the included RCTs were analyzed by using RevMan 5.3 software. Results Eleven studies were included and contained total 678 patients. Control group: treated with Butylphthalide; test group: routine/other treatment. The total effective rate of test group were higher than that of control group (OR = 5.62, 95%CI: 3.31-9.56, P < 0.01). The MMSE scale scores of test group were better than control group (SMD = 5.18, 95%CI: 3.72-6.64, Z = 6.96, P < 0.01). The BI scale scores of test group were better than control group (SMD = 16.39, 95%CI: 11.78-21.01, P < 0.01). Conclusion Butylphthalide is safe and effective to treat delayed encephalopathy after carbon monoxide poisoning.
