Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of five-note therapy on acute earlier acute stage of migraine with syndrome of liver Yang ascending hyperactively. Methods 90 patients with acute earlier acute stage of migraine with syndrome of liver Yang ascending hyperactively in Guang′anmen Hospital, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2015 to April 2017 were selected, and they were divided into two groups according to random number table, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupuncture at regular acupoints for 30 min; the treatment group was treated with five-note therapy on the base of control group for 30 min. After treatment, headache VAS score of 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and 24 hours between two groups were observed and curative effect of two groups were evaluated. The levels of serum 5-HT and CGRP were compared between the two groups. Adverse reactions were observed between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total efficiency of control group was 80.0%, 95.6% in the treatment group, the difference was statistically significant between the treatment group and control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, The VAS scores at each time point between the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05), but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). There were no obvious changes in blood and urine routine, liver and kidney function before and after treatment between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the serum level of 5-HT in the two group were significantly higher than those before treatment, the levels of CGRP were significantly lower than those before treatment, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05), and after treatment, the levels of serum 5-HT and CGRP of treatment group were significantly better than those of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions among the three groups. Conclusion Five-note therapy combined with conventional acupuncture can improve the acute earlier acute stage of migraine with syndrome of liver Yang ascending hyperactively, and have no obvious adverse reaction, high safety, and is worthy of popularization and application.
