Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of needle knife in the treatment of patients with atlantoaxial subluxation. Methods Sixty cases of patients with atlantoaxial subluxation treated in Department of Rehabilitation, TCM Hospital of Shijiazhuang City from October 2016 to January 2018 were selected as research objects and they were divided into two groups through the design of blocking randomization. 30 cases in the needle knife group were given the treatment of little T-shaped piercing with acupotome, once a week, for 3 weeks. 30 patients in the acupuncture group were given the treatment of acupuncture, 5 times a week, for 3 weeks. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was evaluated before treatment and 3 weeks after treatment, and the clinical effect between the two groups was compared. Results After treatment, the VAS score in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the score of needle knife group was significantly lower than that of acupuncture group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate in needle knife group was 83.3%, which of the acupuncture group was 66.7%, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of needle knife for patients with atlantoaxial subluxation is better than that of traditional acupuncture, and it is suitable for further popularization.
