Abstract:Objective To systematically evaluate the safety and efficacy of Chinese herbal fumigation bath in treating postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoid. Methods The databases of PubMed, EMbase, CBM, CNKI, Wanfang Data and VIP were searched by computer, and the retrieval period was set as database until January 2018. All of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of Chinese herbal fumigation bath in treating postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoid and research literatures included in the RCTs were also traced. The retrieved literature were screened, valid data was extracted, and the quality of the research literature was assessed by two researchers by using RevMan 5.3 software to analyze the data Meta. Results Totally 6 RCTs involving 664 patients were included into the study. The Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the potassium permanganate solution bath treatment Chinese herbal fumigation bath could significantly improve the clinical effective rate [RR = 1.13, 95%CI (1.06, 1.21), P = 0.0001], with statistically significant differences. Conclusion Chinese herbal fumigation bath can effectively relieve the pain of patients with mixed hemorrhoids and improve the clinical efficiency. However, due to the low methodology and quality and small sample size of included RCTs in this study, more randomized, double-blind trials with a large sample size are required to further verify the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal fumigation bath in treating postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoid.
