Abstract:Objeetive To observe clinical effect of Buqihuoxue Decoction and percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy on lumbar disc herniation. Methods From April 2015 to March 2017, in Department of Orthopedics, Baoji Hospital of Chinese Medicine, 50 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation were divided into control group 25 cases (given percutaneous intervertebral endoscopy) and treatment group 25 cases (given Buqihuoxue Decoction and percutaneous intervertebral endoscopy). The visual analogue score (VAS score) and Oswestry disability index (ODI index) were compared the preoperation, 1 week, 1 month, and 6 months after surgery. During treatment, the function of liver and kidney, adverse drug reactions were monitored regularly. Results After treatment, the VAS score and ODI index in two groups were improved than before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05); the VAS score and ODI index in the treatment group were significantly lower than the control group on 1 week, 1 month, and 6 months, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no drug-related gastrointestinal reaction and general discomfort in all patients. Conclusion Buqihuoxue Decoction combined with percutaneous transforaminal endoscope for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation is safe and effective. The combination of Chinese and Western medicine has achieved good results.
