The application of experiential teaching in obstetric delivery

Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of experiential teaching in obstetric delivery. Methods Sixty-four obstetric interns in Department of Obstetrics, Chaoyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Beijing City from July to December 2016 were selected as the intervention group by convenient sampling method, and 64 obstetric interns from July to December 2015 were selected as the control group. The intervention group accepted experiential teaching, and the control group adopted regular teaching, then critical thinking ability, experiential teaching effect evaluation and assessment results were compared between the two groups. Results The critical thinking ability to find the truth, open mind, analyzing ability, systematical ability, self-confidence of critical thinking, thirst for knowledge, the cognitive maturity and the total score of the intervention group were better than those of the control group, the teaching evaluation of experiential teaching of the intervention group was higher than the control group, and the grade of situational simulation assessment test and theoretical test of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Application of experiential teaching in obstetric delivery can improve the critical thinking ability, teaching effect evaluation and assessment results.
