Abstract:Objective To establish a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the determination of narural vitamin E in Natural Vitamin E Soft Capsules. Methods An Alltima C18 column (150 mm× 4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used for the separation, with methanol as the mobile phase at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was 285 nm. Results The method showed good linearity with correlation coefficient of 0.9999 for vitamin E. The assay method showed good specificity. The precision and stability were satisfactory with the relative standard deviations (RSD) of 0.17% and 0.87% respectively. The average spiked recovery was 100.8% (n = 6), the recovery rate was good. The determination results was 101.2%, 100.8% and 102.7% of the labeled amount of the three batches of samples respectively. Conclusion The established method is accurate, simple and fast, and can be used for determination of narural vitamin E in Natural Vitamin E Soft Capsules.
