Abstract:Objective To investigate the predictive value of serum amyloid A (SAA), neutrophilto-lymphocyte rate (NLR) for the severity of acute pancreatitis. Methods The clinical data of 116 patients with acute pancreatitis admitted to Gaoming People's Hospital of Foshan City from January 2015 to May 2017 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into SAP group (34 cases), MSAP group (47 cases) and MAP group (35 cases) according to the severity of the disease. The general information of patients, SAA, white blood cell count (WBC) and NLR were analyzed. Results There were statistically significant differences in NLR and SAA among the three groups (P < 0.05). Further comparision showed that the indicators above in SAP group were higher than that of MSAP group, both SAP group and MSAP group were higher than that of MAP group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The areas of SAA, WBC and NLR under the ROC curve predicted by SAP were 0.912, 0.776 and 0.842 respectively. The areas of SAA, WBC and NLR under ROC curve were 0.839, 0.799 and 0.811 for MSAP+SAP. Conclusion SAA and NLR have a certain value in predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis.
