Abstract:Hospital risk management is a managerial process which studies potential risk links during medical service, reduces uncertain factors and minimizes malpractice, so as to ensure the quality of medical care. Through summarizing experience and shortages of risk management at home and abroad, as well as integrating risk management practice in outpatients′ critical value notification, preoperative condition assessment, surgical patient transfer, surgical site identification, surgical safety verification, and other high risk procedures, the solutions and suggestions of risk management are conducted. More importantly, medical risk management needs to establish a comprehensive risk management system from the decision-making level, manager and executive level. Based on the evaluations of key quality assessment and surveillance, by utilizing the skills of risk identification, risk assessment, risk control and risk tracking, as well as applying medical quality management methods and tools, the optimal goal of this research is to ensure patients′ safety, build a comprehensive, long-term, continuously improving hospital quality management system.
