Abstract:Objective To investigate the current situation of resourcefulness in elderly patients with coronary heart disease, to analyze the influencing factors of resourcefulness, and to explore the relationship between resourcefulness and quality of life. Methods The convenience sampling method was adopted to investigate and analyzed 188 elderly patients with coronary heart disease who were admitted to People’s Hospital of Deyang City from June to October 2019 using general information questionnaire, resourcefulness scale, and quality of life scale. Results In this study, a total of 196 questionnaires were issued and 188 valid questionnaires were returned. The effective response rate was 95.9%. There was a statistically significant difference in the intelligence level of elderly patients with coronary heart disease with different ages, education levels, monthly income and disease course (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the average score of individual resourcefulness and the average score of social resourcefulness (P > 0.05). The quality of life score and each dimension were negatively correlated with the resourcefulness score and each dimension (r < 0, P < 0.01). Conclusion Elderly patients with coronary heart disease are at an intermediate level of resourcefulness, and patients with high age, low education, low income, and short course of disease should be the focus of clinical care in the future. At the same time, improving the quality of life of elderly patients with coronary heart disease is also conducive to the improvement of resourcefulness.
