Abstract:Objective To investigate the level of knowledge sharing and learning engagement among nursing students with different educational backgrounds, and to explore whether the difference of educational background has a moderating effect on students′ knowledge sharing ability and learning engagement. Methods From January 2017 to January 2018, a total of 338 full-time nursing students (“nursing student” for short) from a vocational medical college in Guangdong Province were selected, according to different educational background, they were divided into the junior college group (145 nursing student) and the technical secondary school group (193 nursing student), the knowledge sharing and learning engagement scale was used to investigate. Results The differences in knowledge sharing behavior and learning involvement between two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05); there is a significant positive correlation between knowledge sharing ability and learning engagement (r = 0.539, 0.570, 0.580, 0.600, P < 0.001); the ability to extract knowledge had a significant positive predictive effect on learning engagement (P < 0.05); education background played a moderating role between knowledge sharing and learning engagement of nursing students (P < 0.001). Conclusion Knowledge sharing ability has an impact on learning engagement, and with the enhancement of knowledge extraction ability, the learning engagement of junior college nursing students increases more rapidly.
