Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of impulse IQ in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder with syndrome of blockade of cold-dampness. Methods Fifty-six cases of patients with temporomandibular joint disorder with syndrome of blockade of cold-dampness treated in Outpatient Department of Rehabilitation, Cixi Sixth People′s Hospital from October 2016 to April 2017 were randomly divided into observation group (28 cases) and control group (28 cases) by random number table method. The observation group was treated with SIT6000 impulse IQ, while the control group was treated with acupuncture with the main points of SI19, ST7 and ST6. After treatment for 7 days, the visual analogue scale (VAS), temporomandibular joint dysfunction index (DI), palpation index (PI), and Fricton index (CMI) of the two groups were used to evaluate efficacy. Results After treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups were all significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05), the scores of DI, PI and CMI in the observation group were all significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of VAS, DI, PI and CMI in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Impulse IQ can significantly improve the function of temporomandibular joint and relieve the pain of temporomandibular joint disorder in patients with temporomandibular joint disorder with syndrome of blockade of cold-dampness.
