Abstract:Objective To study the clinical efficacy and prognosis of combination therapy for chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. Methods From November 2016 to November 2017, 89 patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease who were admitted to Chengde Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were enrolled. The patients were divided into observation group (42 cases) and control group (47 cases) by random number table method. The control group was treated with simple Chinese medicine enema, the observation group was treated with abdominal acupuncture plus TDP, moxibustion, acupoint injection, and hammocks collaterals bloodletting and cupping therapy in addition. The clinical efficacy, clinical symptom scores, inflammatory factor levels, quality of life, and recurrence of patients in both groups were observed after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group after treatment was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.01). After treatment, the clinical symptom scores of the two groups were significantly decreased, and those of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.01); the levels of IL-2 and IL-10 in the two groups increased significantly, and those in the observation group were higher than the control group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01); the levels of TNF-α in the two groups were significantly decreased, and that in the observation group was lower than the control group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01); the pain and discomfort scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, the positive feeling, sleep status and overall health score were significantly higher than those the control group (P < 0.01). Six months follow-up after treatment showed that the relapse rate in the observation group was significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of combination therapy in treating chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is better than traditional Chinese medicine enema alone. It can improve clinical symptoms, inhibit inflammation, improve quality of life, and reduce disease recurrence. It has high clinical value.
