Abstract:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common disease in the elderly. Some of these patients eventually develop pulmonary interstitial fibrosis (PIF). Professor WU Weiping has outstanding curative effect in the treatment of COPD disease complicated with PIF. She thinks that the pathogenesis of the disease is insufficient anti-pathogenic energy, invasion of exogenous pathogens, and symptoms are mainly due to qi and yin deficiency. Phlegm and congestion play an important role in the process of pathogenesis. Professor WU takes the method of purging phlegm, activating blood, supplementing qi and nourishing yin, and her composition of prescription is mild and moderate, simple and effective.
