Abstract:Objective To research the effect of experiential teaching combined with case teaching method on independent learning ability and teaching effect of nursing students. Methods From January to December in 2015, 56 nursing students in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were selected as the control group. From January to December in 2016, 54 nursing students in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were selected as the experimental group. Before and after the training, the nursing students′self learning ability scale and the related knowledge of the self made critical care medicine were investigated. At the same time, after the end of the training, the teaching effects were evaluated. The independent learning ability, knowledge related to intensive care medicine and teaching quality in the two groups were compared. Results The total score of autonomous learning ability, the scores of knowledge related to intensive care medicine and teaching effect in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion Experiential teaching combined with case teaching can effectively improve the independent learning ability and knowledge level of nursing students, enhance their learning interest and enthusiasm, and improve teaching quality.
